Anyone have any photos of where they consider to be the best place in uk to camp. Am looking for an awesome view, either mountains, hills or water. I saw one on here once, but can'y remember where it was. My friend is in desperate need of a break, and a place with a view would be just the thing to help her unwind. Many thanks for your help.------------- live like you've never lived

Very funny DaveP65... I was going to write the same but thought better of it.
The coast in the south west is perhaps a good place to camp as is Wales. I don't fancy the typical weather had in Wales though.

How about this?
I don't know if this might be too far for your friend but it's Arisaig in the Scottish Highlands. This was taken from Invercaimbe site, the end of the site comes right onto the beach and the views are to die for. It's very peaceful too, just the right place for your friend to unwind.

Thats just what I was thinking.
Also unless I have missed something (which is quite possible) whats the sight called? I put Arisag in the search and there were a few.

There are 3 or 4 sites in Arisaig and I think all take caravans. It is an area I also love. If you time it right you can paddle out to some of the wee islands for your very own robinson crusoe barbeque - we did that one year and it sticks in my memory as a magical experience.

My photo was taken from the end of Invercaimbe Caravan & Campsite, I'm not sure where Tiggarsmum's pic was taken from but it will be pretty close to there. There are a few sites just along that particular stretch of coast and as far as I'm aware they all take caravans. Camusdarach site has a lovely beach too.

All the sites in the Arisaig area take tents, caravans, campers and motorhomes. The journey is much better for larger vans now as the new road is now open.
The sites all have varying degrees of facilities , HERE is a list of them
Tiger, my pic was taken from Sliversands.
