Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good site in the North West?

Needs the following:

- Play area if possible (althought not an essential)

- Want somewhere fairly quiet and open - where my eldest little boy (not quite 2 yrs old yet!) can run around without either getting lost or causing traffic chaos!

I'm thinking of either Gibraltar farm at Silverdale - massive area for running around and usually fairly quiet - been there before too. Otherwise, Fron Farm in Mold - or Abbey Farm near Ormskirk. It's our first time camping for years and with a 22 month old and 4 month old - we don't want to go too far. Ormskirk isn't exactly the lake district i know, but may be ideal for us being about 20 mins from where we live. (talk about camping close to home!!!)

Any other suggestions appreciated!!

I think we're going to Gibraltar Farm (http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/results3.asp?search=gibraltar&by=sitename , at silverdale.

No playground but certainly quiet.

Just got back now.

Had an excellent weekend - perhaps a little under-prepared, but the boys loved it and the weather held out.

Hi Ruby - the weather was fine.

The grass was quite damp when we got there on Friday evening, and the air felt damp on Saturday morning and was overcast. Sat PM was glorious though!

Sunday was quite overcast too early doors (we get up early with the 2 little 'uns!) but we packed up and left by 10am. We only live near St Helens and it didn't really rain there until around 11pm last night.

I've done a review of Gibraltar Farm on here - keep your eyes peeled.

Ruby - can you recommend any good sites to us at all in the area?

Thanks
