Do a search on here, i found around 12 sites in and around the Barmouth and Tal-y-Bont area, all vary in price, just dont try to book up for bank holiday as all the sites from Barmouth to Harlech are full.
Short flat walk into Barmouth straight from the site. Nice pitches, toilets/showers, good little shop and small takeaway.
We'll be there in September and cannot wait!

We have stayed at Hendre Mynach...its a really nice site...close to the beach...nice little shop and cafe/takeaway...very friendly and helpful owners...nice private pitches with hedges around...would deffinately return...
It sounds like Hendre Mynach has changed a bit, we were there a few years ago and were double booked ,overcharged, the toilets/showers were awful and the staff were pig ignorant. We were also shaken out of bed by the trains every morning at 7am and we were not impressed by the nutters hanging out of the windows on the council estate next door.
We did not think much to the pub the bus takes you to as it was very run down and the staff had no idea what they were doing.
We would definitely not go back.
We got dumped on by a flying elephant disguised as a sea gull in Barmouth, we were a right mess.

apart from the seagull, bus and pub i will confirm the rest..i wouldn't say the staff where ignorant just a bit odd..we booked for 3 nights in may just gone, not a pleasant experience...i suppose booking in at the same time as the cast of shameless didn't help...we had a large pitch right next to the railway line and under some kind of pylon which was buzzing away all night.. the next morning we threw the stuff in the van and left...hopefully never to see the place again ..
we ended up at a site near talybont....forgot the name but it was a lot better..
I love Shell Island - just done the first two weeks of Summer hols there and had a fab time but will never go on a bank holiday again - in fact I'll probabaly never go at the weekend again. Just too many people.
We stayed on the coast last week in black rock although the location was beautiful when it rained it was driving rain because of the wind coming off the sea.... not the best we had major leakage as we have no SIG so somewhere a bit sheltered would be better! lol
