What do you request when you book a campsite?
Is it normal to request say a flat pitch, not hard ground or not in soggy ground, near toilets or away from groups etc ?
Or do you just book your number of nights and hope for the best when you get there?
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Depends on where I'm going and when. I try to give as much information as I can when I book - I have 3 children, large family tent, dog, require EHU etc.... then the site has a pretty good idea of my needs and can allocate a pitch accordingly.
Site websites usually give detials such as sloping pitches (nothing is ever going to be 100% flat) they have little control over the ground conditions but I guess you could request things like near toilets, play area etc... but this would probably only be a request and couldn't necessarily be guatanteed.
Some sites allow you to choose your pitch when you arrive or if they have allocated you one and it's not ideal you could always ask if there was another pitch available.
It's quite normal to ask for near toilets or away from the swingparks or for a secluded pitch because you have a dog, for example. But asking for the pitch to be in a specific state when you get there is more difficult!
