Hi

We're off to Cobbs Hill Farm in Bexhill tomorrow (v. excited!!). We don't know the area but have researched a list of things to do.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any safe cycling tracks (preferrably traffic free) in that area. Our youngest is 8 and I don't want him on the road as a lot of the campsite reviews of that area mention mad driving.

I'm also a plant addict so all suggestions for good nurseries are welcome.

Thanks

PF

Hi, it is a bit of a drive (approx. 35 mins) the Cuckoo Trail is meant to be lovely (have not actually been there myself but I know a lot who have and recommend it).  To my knowledge it starts in Heathfield and goes down to Polegate (all off road apart from the odd crossing). There are those brown information direction signs showing where it is.  Also another drive out (approx. 25 mins) is Bewl Water and Bedgebury Pineutum (sp), you can take the bikes to both of these places.

Have a lovely holiday.

Thanks so much. They all sound like just what we're looking for.

Forgot to mention about Seven Sisters Country Park, on the way to Seaford.  There is a small car free cycle route here.

Also there is a old disused railway line (now a cycle/footpath) running from Groombridge to East Grinstead with very few road crossings, this is on the edge of Ashdown Forest, which if you are not local is well worth a visit.  The village of Hartfield nearby this is where the stories of Winnie the Pooh originated, and plenty of walks to Pooh Bridge, Pooh Stones, the Enchanted Place. This would take less than an hour to get to from Bexhill.
