We are hoping to go for a weekend mid september and I wonder if anyone can recommend a site in/near Whitby close to the sea, whic has EHU and good facilities and pitch sizes?

have you tried the Camp Site Search button at the top of this page, the advanced search facility will let you narrow down to sites with EHU etc and there are usually several reviews from UKCS members who have been to the site before.
Hope you find what you want, it's a lovely area.
