The closest one I can think of around here for Matlock Bath is at the Duke William pub here in Matlock. It is open to end of Sept I think. Reasonably large field below Riber castle. If you are there on a Sunday make sure you book a table for the carvery lunch, highly recomended we go there when OH dont feel like cooking.

Walk to M Bath is a couple of miles.

Have you looked at :- 

Birchwood Farm Caravan site at Whatstandwell, short walk to the station and Matlock Bath is next stop up the line.

Grouse & Claret, Rowsley. Little bit further out but on the A6 and around 10 mins drive to Matlock Bath on the main Buxton - Derby bus route

Word of advice is check what weekends the firework displays are as Matlock Bath is usually heaving those nights.

Off to Lickpenny tonight and visiting the rescheduled Cromford Steam Rally and yes it is as goos as the reviews in my humble opinion

Lickpenny is a lovely site..have stayed on a number of occasions and will be returnin for the illuminations in october....

For convenience I would say square and compass at rowsley its on the bakewell/matlock bus route and is on the doorstep of Chatsworth. Parking in Matlock Bath is a pain and many folk walk from matlock itself (at busy times) its usually quicker than the traffic.

Maybe not as nice as other sites but for location its excellent.

Had a brill weekend at the rally and at Lickpenny, fortunately although called the cromford steam rally its held at Tansley so the recent problems did not affect the event
