Hi everyone.Am new to this diamond of a site.Would appreciate any info/tips/advice etc.I,m looking to getaway to scotland...before the snow comes! Got my tent.Vango zetes 200. Am looking to use campsites and also anywherelse i can pitch. Will also be taking my car, so i would need to be able to park it either next to my tent or at least as close as poss.I will be a one man band basically. So any suggestions of sites, off the beaten track, hidden gems etc would be very welcome. I will be either cooking myself(dbl burner+grill)or using pubs, cafes etc., might have a campfire going also, depending on where i am and if its allowed! Many thanks in advance..billy.

OOOOOhhhhhhh, I'm so jealous. I really will have to plan my annual leave better next year.
Scotland has an abundance of sites you can choose, from the down right secluded and wild (knoydart) to the utmost convenience and luxury (but I don't choose those).
Using the campsite search will help but maybe to get another view point perhaps try:
Scotland camping
I have to admit though the one that really takes my fancy is: Badrallach
Have a wonderful time you lucky lucky person!

Thanks very much for that POKEY.Do you or any other members know of wee spots i can just pitch off a road(A,B or Tracks)without disturbance to others or/and myself??,I know camping like this is more tolerated in scotland.Thank goodness for common sense i say!! Just want to drive allover scotland and pitch where & when i like really.Being considerate to landowners, homeowners, etc etc of course. Wont pitch where i would cause a problem obviously! That BADRALLACH Site looks stunning by the way

We were in Applecross in the summer and although there is a campsite, there were also people 'wild' camping on the grass in front of the bay. Looked great, cracking views out to sea and because you had the pebble beach right in front of you some had fires to cook on (don't think the tide came right up). Walking distance to the village too (and the pub!). Fantastic drive up to applecross, make sure you go before the snow comes.

Good luck

Nicky

You can wild camp easily in Scotland. Choose a pitch next to a loch, on a beach, on a mountain. . . wherever. See google earth!!
Obviously follow the wild camping 'code'.
'Glenview', (see reviews), campsite on the Ardnamurchan peninsula is nice and allows campfires. You can wild camp easily around that area, too.
Make sure you check the weather forecast carefully before you go and tell someone where you are!
