I don't remember my first camp, my parents took us camping all the time and I loved it, which is why I love camping so much now. I associate the smell of tents with happy memories, as life was horrible most the time as mum and dad were so stressed, but holidays were just fab to spend quality time with them.
I was 6 weeks old when I first went camping, fair play to my folks as 34 years ago there weren't travel cots or things like that, they said they just dismantled everything they needed and reassembled it on site. I have an older brother and sister too, so they did do well!!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
we bought our first 'van 6 years ago-a small swift challenger which i loved to bits.our first trip away was to sandy balls and on the first night we sat outside drinking(as you do) with some other caravanners.i was so sozzled that i flopped onto the bed and broke it-the whole thing collapsed underneath me.of course i thought it was hilarious(hubby didnt cos he knew he had to fix it!!) and we both ended up sleeping sitting up,one on each settee with the duvet draped between us.great night sleep!!Remembered next morning that our van was a 5 berth and all we needed to do was to move the kids from the back to the front of the van and make the double up at the back!!
Next day, the water pump and heater packed up and we got a puncture in the car!!
Glad to say it didnt put us off and we're now on our 3rd 'van which we use 7 times a year!!

I don't remember my first time but I have been told a great deal about it! I spent my first birthday in a caravan in North Wales. Mum and Dad tried to buy some candles for my cake but when they walked into shops the people there were talking in Welsh! I ended up with a match in my first birthday cake. Like many others, my happiest memories are of camping holidays, we used to go to Cornwall and Gower.
My OH now work for one of the main clubs and spend most of our year living in a caravan on sites, we are one of the youngest couples to be doing it and I have to say that we have never looked back, the outdoor life is for us.....whatever the weather!
