Hi, You will find loads of suitable sites using the Advanced or Area Radius search from here and most of them , if not all, will have personal visitor reviews

We stayed at Keswick Camping and Caravanning club site. Our kids loved it, used the dinghy in the lake most days, also easy walking distance into town etc. The site was partially flooded the day before we went which can be off-putting with recent weather issues in our country.

Hi Betty,
We stayed at Park Cliffe, Bowness in Windermere, with our two kids ( 10 nd 6 ) in October. The site is excellent, plenty showers / loos, spotlessly clean, large playarea, large pitches, fully serviced hardstandings, views, small stream for the kids to play in, small bar / cafe / shop. We couldn't fault it.
Lots of things for the kids to do in the area, Brockhole visitor centre has a large outdoor playarea, Quayside kids indoor playarea, the boats, etc etc.
Good luck,
Alex.

I second Keswick C&CC site, easy walk to supermarket, town centre and pubs, rugby club for a drink. Next I like Castlerigg Farm a little further out but a nice site.

We didn't reckon that the playarea at Keswick CCC site was any good. Very small.
Excellent location and great facilities though and the lake is right there, so the kids would love that.

We go on holiday in October, and we really enjoyed our stay at this site,
http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=2238 just outside the town of Hawkeshead, 5 mins walk at the most.
Previously have stayed at CCC Keswick site but woke up one morning to water on 3 sides of the caravan - that put us off.
Lovely area and many lovely sites, its really difficult to choose just one

If Park Coppice is in Coniston it is closed until August for a refurb.------------- Sandra
