Hi everybody
I want to book a weekend away to the Newforest at Easter and remembered a campsite called Hollands Wood I visited a long time ago. I've just had a look at the tariff and calculated the total for four nights which totalled £ 143!! Sorry, is it me or is this really expensive? Maybe im just really out of touch, but we went camping numerous times last year, and we never paid anything like that!
Can anyone recommend another site in the New Forest? I will have a look and see if it comes out any cheaper!
Many thanks, and happy new year to you all xx

All the sites in the New Forest can be found here and you can select your requirements and then read visitor reviews

Thanks Ratty. I was wondering if anyone had a favourite campsite in the New Forest that I could take a look at?
Thanks

Hi Peppa,
Forest Holiday sites are all ridiculously overpriced (and there are a shed load of extras to factor in as well) so I give them a swerve on principle. Smashing site and nice people at the Red Shoot, give them a Google, or try the C&CC site at Verwood which is not strictly speaking in the New Forest but is close enough. Not the most picturesque or interesting site but it is cheap enough and being a club site not too many oiks (who bizarrely love places like Holmsley).

Red shoot site is a good option,a bit basic but ok
All the forestry commission sites are now under the C&CC & if you are a member of The C&CC you will get a discount But I think that all the sites have a minimum of a week booking for bank holliday periods

Depends what you mean by basic! Red Shoot has showers and loos (although we didn't use them), so that's not basic in my eyes; I call CLs with just ehu and water basic! Red Shoot is nice, we thought it was pricey but must be cheaper than Forest Holidays.

I also love Bashley but another good one which does take tents is Lytton Lawn, which is also close to the coast.
