Hi

These sites are at a place called Cranfield but I have never stayed at them.  They are mostly if not all privately owned Statics but I know there is one site that takes Tourers.    Are you hiring a static?  If I can help in any way please post more info.

No, we're not hiring a static we're taking out tent. It looks like these two sites take tents although they do seem to have mainly statics.

Can you suggest anywhere else in the area - we're visiting friends in Newry so want to be no more than 30 mins drive from there.

 One thing about Kilbroney is that it is not flat.    Didn't think Chestnutts took tents

It is in a country park with wonderful views across to the Republic of Ireland.    I haven't stayed in it recently but it is a nicer area than Kilkeel (where you will be swamped by hundreds of statics)    There is a nice beach at Kilkeel but not much else and in Ireland you are lucky to get the weather to enjoy the beach.   Tollymore Forest Park in Newcastle is a beautiful setting but the reviews on here are not always good for the toilet block.    I don't think it gets cleaned at the weekend.
