The electric went off for 5 mins on Sunday night and again at 9.30 am Monday and still off when we left, would you bother asking for some recompense or am I just in the " try owt for nowt" syndrome that seems to have gripped society ?
Answers on the back of an old £5 note please !

Officially they are not charging you for the electricity but for a serviced pitch, as they cannot legally sell you electricity, so I doubt whether you would have any success in claiming a rebate.

Yep, tis Brian, its just the general attitude was , were doing all we can to rectify it, which given could see all staff , made me wonder what, also would be curious to know if and when it was resumed, never had it on a CC site !

Cold weather (and it was cold for Easter) + fully booked + electric heaters galore = electric consumption is MASSIVE.
The consequence of that is the electric main switched trip off.....or worse still.....main fuses burn out.
You were lucky it was only off for 5 mins!!
Yes, it is inconvienient if the electric trips out, especially if you are in the middle of watching Dr Who (and oogoling Miss Pond).......but unfortunatly it does happen.
And your compensation for 5 mins of no power......about 3p !!!
Do you expect a rebate on your electricity bill if you have a power cut at home - especially if it only lasts a short time?? The loss of power was likely to be no fault of the campsite and could have been just too many people using too many things or even a power cut in the local area. No you should not expect recompense.
We were at Keswick C & CC over Easter and on the Sunday, the electic was tripping on and off all day - hardly surprising when you could see halogen heaters on full in empty awnings! We had one opposite us which was on 24/7, looked like it was to keep the dog warm!
It was a bit inconvenient (kept interupting Jonathon Creek!) but I wouldn't have asked for a refund!

Suppose it makes a change from all those tenters with their fan heaters
