My husband and i are emmigrating to australia in the very near future and have decided to rent out our house so we can save paying the mortgage. We would like to stay around the dorst area as husband works in wimborne (can do ringwood, ashley heath etc.....) We want to find somebody that will rent us a static in the region of £300-£400 per month until we go, but i cannot find anybody that does private lets only holiday. We would like to hire for a period of 12-18 months and we both work.

I think that the problem is that you would probably be unable to rent on a site for that period of time.It's something to do with residential rules and, if i remember correctly, you can only live in a static van for 10 months out of 12 then you have to go elsewhere for the other 2 months before returning to the van-a friend of mine has a static van in the new forest and was telling me that, although there are residents on the site who own the vans that they are in, they can only be there for 10 months.If I'm wrong,please correct me someone, but it may be worth looking it up on the internet.

Id buy a cheap tourer or trailer tent and move around all over the area. Stay the max time permitted at each site. You get to see more of Dorset, and I dont think the site fees over 18 months would come anywhere near the £5000 to £7000 you would pay for a private rental of somewhere.
