We have just joined the CC & I have just spent most of tonight trying to find sites with availability in the areas we want to visit.
We want to visit Chatsworth this year but I'm struggling to find availability as we are largely restricted to weekends due to hubby's printing business.
Losehill seems to be the nearest site to Chatsworth & they have availability in Sept.
Can anyone recommend a good CL site in Bakewell or close by?
Many thanks

There is a lovely site near Chesterfield, Sutton Hall Gardens (see my review), not so near to Chatsworth of course but near the M1, highly recommended but doesn't have loos or showers if this is important.
I think that is the problem now with the CC. I do keep checking to see if its worthwhile but each time come up with a "No" as there is no space either when looking forwards or on the last min calendar.
I might join in November and play the same game as the other members seem to and book all the weekends up straight away.
People recommend ringing the site directly though and not just rely on the website. I'd ring them and see if they do really have space for someone who has taken the time to actively ring and find out and not just click around a screen.
Good Luck
Apparently the C&CC club take deposits so don't have this problem as much.
There has also been another post in the last few days for this area asking for help. It came up with some good sites so have a look further down the forum too.
Its not just the club sites that are booked solid for the weekends, we recently contacted several CLs with a view to booking at least a 7 night stay, only to find that we would either have to pitch hop to take up the bits and bobs of pitch availability left, or book well in advance, which we ended up doing, for Aug 2011, and even that was a cancellation from somone who was a regular customer
