We are planning our first ever family Camping trip in June and would like to go to Ironbridge.
Are there any sites within 20 miles that are kid friendly (3 boys 6,10,13) suited to novice campers that anyone can recommend please?

Frequently recommended on these forums, and within your 20 mile range is Pillaton Hall Farm. Never been there myself (too close!) but handy for Cosford RAF Museum and Severn Valley and Chasewater Railways, as well as the Ironbridge Museum sites.
Not recommendation as such, as we have been yet, but we are going to stay at Scythe Caravan and Camping which is Much Wenlock, not far from Ironbridge.
Though whether that counts a kid friendly depends on what you mean by that. But we will be camping with friends with 3 kids 5, 9 and 9 between us.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
