Here's a question for those who prefer quieter spots...I live in Hertfordshire and have been camping in England many many times but have never come access a site where my nearest neighbour is not in view. I'd love to find somewhere where it's quiet and I'm not surrounded by 100's of other tents. Any suggestions anyone? Or am I asking too much?

Depends what sort of facilities you require, but if you can cope with the bare minimum, C&CC certificated sites (as others have suggested) might be just what you are looking for. They are usually small, quiet sites with very few facilities (some have no more than a drinking water tap and a CDP), so tend to attract quiet campers!
