A group of friends, is looking for a campsite where some late night noise is acceptable. Where open fires are allowed if sensibly looked after and where there are definitely no children. Somewhere in Southern England.
Somewhere where adults can be adults, stay up chatting, having a smoke and a drink but where no-one would be offended by our antics.
Any suggestions?

I suppose it depends just how much noise you want to make and how late.
Most sites and fellow campers expect noise in the evening but not past a certain time, usually 11pm, couldn't you just be mindful and keep it to a minimum after this time? Last year we went on a rally and were up drinking and chatting outside til about 2pm but we kept our voices low and didn't disturb a soul, we still had a great time.
I can't see any fellow campers being pleased to hear shouting etc late into the night.

Look for sites with rally field and sometimes if your a group they will let you have it to yourselves so your away from the people who want early night. Conway touring park wales had a rowdy tent field - but that was our first trip ever 10yrs ago and maybe I started it all not knowing the rules

You could try River Wye Camping according to the reviews. I booked a pitch there for this weekend before seeing the reviews...phoned up again to cancel it after reading them. Practically every review remarks on the noise from groups.
Hi there are such sites around but I think people keep quiet about them because they don't want the fun police spoiling things lol! I think Onykahonie's suggestion is a good one, so try looking for small festivals (they are usually very cheap too). Colne (in Lancashire) hosts a fantastic blues/rock festival in August - camping at the Rugby club for £36 for 5 nights and make as much noise as you like and not a kid in sight (no fires though, don't think they would like holes in the pitch).
