Hi, does anybody know of a nice, family friendly campsite near Criccieth or Borth-y-Gest? Could also be further towards Pwllheli.

Thanks!

Hi, I have just booked Eisteddfa Camping and Caravan Park near Criccieth for August, having spoken with the owners over the phone I am really looking forward to it, the site is family run and I asked them specifically about noise as I am going with my extended family (3 adults and 4 children) and have had a few bad experiences late at night on other sites, but I was assured that it wouldn't be a problem.  They are listed on here somewhere (not very good at finding things on here.. including my previous posts !!.  (I will try and post it if I can find it)

Good luck :)

Eisteddfa (recommended by Tillydrink) is certainly family friendly, with loads of kids about usually. It's reasonably cheap too, certainly compared to sites nearer Abersoch. That said, we've found it can be a tad noisy on busy weekends, up till around 10:30 pm. It's popular with large family groups. Has a large recreation field, a small play ground, and some woods.

If you want a quieter site Llwyn Bugeilydd is also near Criccieth (no website). It has no statics.

just come back from Eisteddfa and thoroughly recommend it. We took advantage of the excellent weather 22nd/23rd of the month and sped over to Wales.

Friendly welcome with the owner providing a tarp' as a footprint, as we were put on the hardstanding (welsh slate) **take some decent rock pegs if pitching**

excellent facilities shower rooms/inc wc good size

no problems with noise for us

take a left out of the camp to get to black rock (by car) which is fantastic as you drive straight onto the beach, £3.00 to pay unless you can beat the attendants..be there before 9.00am lol.

there is a fabulous Gelert camping store as well, walked in and it was like a toy shop...spent more than we should...
