Just got a new tent and I'm itching to try it out, but I can't think where to go - never had much trouble before but I'm struggling this time so thought I'd ask on here.

Right, as said I'm in a tent and would much prefer a tent only site but it doesn't matter much. I like the inland sites as opposed to coastal ones, must have toilet and showers (for the o/h lol), nice views and things to do nearby are nice too but prefferably not an over exposed site (too windy or no escape from the sun).

Could do with keeping within 100miles of lincoln seeing as it's only a weekend away but that includes most of the peak district and possibly southern york's dales.

Any suggestions?

Edale in the Peak District, or Castleton/Hope Valley? Bakewell, Buxton?

What about Conkers C&CC, on the S.Derby/Liecestershire border?  It's possible to get to quite a few places from here, and itis fairly close to the M42 (I think it's J11?)

I've been there too, very nice site and was run by people to match.

Always fancied Crowden because it was tents only but now appears to take anyone.

Thanks guys, I'll look into them lot, any others? I've got a c&cc book but it's always good to hear from people who've been there.
