I have made a quick search through the site but i havent been able to find what i need. Were a couple and are looking to go up to the lakes for a nice weekend at the begining of August. I would appreciate if someone could direct me as im lookinf for a lively site somewhere in the lakes which isnt too far from a bit of nightlife/ resatauraunt/ decent attractions etc. any advice appreciated thanks

I was up in Windermere the other weekend for a bit of 'time alone' with the wife. The weather was great (and other things) but its also a great place for the kids. Came back home and looked up on this site for camping sites in the general location of Windermere and, to be honest, they were limited. Is the list on here a complete list or do others have any suggestions for where to stay ?
at xlgym :I stayed at Waterside House Campsite the last BH weekend , great spot, right on the banks of Ullswater , 15 min walk and its a lovely walk round the lake to Pooley Bridge , which has 3 pubs all serving food , and a fab tea room , you can catch the steamer to Glenridding etc . Loads to do
Loved it , Site was fab , facilities a bit stretched but it was a BH weekend , but they did their utmost to keep on top of it , I went to the loo at midnight and they were cleaning them , putting paper in even at that time ..
ps both waterside house and park foot are virtually next door to each other , but waterside house is on the lake side , park foot is set a wee bit back , but it has a club house and really popular with families .. hope this helps !!
