I know its a bit premature and we may not even get tickets but here goes.

We are hoping to go next year. I know there are fields available for caravans etc but I would prefer to stay off site. Does anyone know of any good sites in and around the area would like electric hook up and a toilet.

Thanks

You will undoubtedly have a little more luxury staying off site but the logistics of getting in and out of the festival are a nightmare, especially if you have to drive. What seems only 5 mins from the entrance can be any thing up to a hour from the main stages. Also, in the car you'll end up parked miles away and could have to walk as far again to get to the gate.

If you don't mind spending a bit of cash there are some luxury camping facilities set up in a field adjacent to the site, look for details on their website. very pricey though.

 Try Ashcombe farm

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=9161

This site is walking distance from the festival as is probably as close as the fields the festival use for their camping altho you will have ALOT more space than the festival van and camper fields as they really cram them in! The festival is held at Worthy farm in the village of Pilton, so altho its called Glastonbury any sites in the Glasto area could still be some distance away.

Do visit the festival tho- it realy is a fantastic experience and the Kidz field is AMAZING!

Batcombe vale is the nearest I've stayed to Pilton, but feel 8 miles may be a bit to far! good luck

I don't now if we can be of any help to you but we have a site at The Brook House Inn which is only 300 yards from Castle Cary railway station which is well used by festival goers - constant free buses to & from the festival from the station & have already taken bookings for next year.
