hello all, were off to gwithian, cornwall in two weeks, but next we would like to try wales next, we really like the look of three cliffs bay, caefrai bay, and one in anglesey, the only doubt for us is the wind, we try to find sites close to the beach as it keeps the children happy, can ayone give us an idea if the wind is bearable, and which part of wales do you suggest for views, beaches and a large family with four children, ps may was great at clippesby hall, all the best gary claire and family

Shell Island is too large a campsite for my taste. And it is exposed. A couple or so years back it was featured on local BBC news after winds razed and/or destroyed many a tent.

I've been eyeing up Three Cliffs campsite myself. I thoroughly recommend staying on the Gower Penisular..it is stunning and Three Cliffs Beach is outstinding in it's natural beauty & is child friendly..do go there..if you camp anywhere near.
My friend recently stayed at Nichalston Farm campsite which is not far from Three Cliffs & said it was lovely...I trust her judgement, but she does not have children so I have no ideal if an ideal site for little-uns!
Hillend Campsite is great also on the Gower, & right on the beach with dunes to have a fire in!, However is very surf orientated & although has many familes camping, it is slightly more aimed at partys so may not be suitable for you & your family?

We use Conwy Touring Park (we're going to be permanently storing our Aggie there next year) It's about a mile outside Conwy and a short drive from the West Shore in Llandudno or Deganwy, where kids can play on the beach.
There are lots of little camping/caravanning areas each holding about 10 or a dozen units, there's an indoor adventure playground if the weather is bad, an outdoor one, a pub/ restaurant, and dog walks.
If you go through to the site next door they have a shop and an indoor swimming pool.

also Pembrokeshire is lovely,some great beaches and campsites and lots to see and do
if you wanted the best of both worlds,city and beach etc then there are some sites near Cardiff,plenty for children to do in and around the city,days out ,castles,farms,softplay if wet weather etc,cinemas
