Cote Ghyll at Osmotherely near Northallerton is a beautiful family friendly site.

The facilities are immaculate and the bathroom is great when you have young (or even not so young!) children with you.
Spacious pitches with or without EHU, lovely walks from the site, the village is an easy walk and has store, 3 pubs and a good chippy, the market town of Northallerton is a 10 minute drive away for supermarkets, shopping and leisure centre, 45 minutes brings you to the coast - Scarborough, Whitby, Filey.

We're going back there again for the August Bank Holiday.

we like Gillside, Ullswater and The Croft, hawkshead both village locations which we found handy when our son was baby.  Think we my try Hawkshead Hall this year as its sligly out of the village and appears to have more space for kids to play.

both of the above are within half hour of amblside and near to attractions.

one thing i will say is that we find the south lakes gets better weather and is more touristy. where as the north tends to have more rain and is less busy.

A friend of ours loves Castlerigg Hall in Keswick, as its near to the town for essentials and stuff
