I used to store a caravan nearby and drive past it regularly. It always used to look a bit of a mess to be honest. It is mainly grass on quite a steep slope so looked to get very muddy. I have not been to the area for a year or so and never stayed there so this is just my "passing" opinion.
I would suggest http://www.meadowhead.co.uk/WarenHome.aspx. I have not stayed but it's the closest one to Budle Bay and I've heard good reports. There are also nice but more pricey sites in Seahouses (Seafield) and Belford (South Meadows).
I stayed at Budle Bay a couple of weeks ago It does have a couple of derelict vans but they are out of the way The showers could be better but I enjoyed my stay
------------- Nothing nada zilch no camping this year boohoo
I went to stay there some years ago and there were laods of chickens walking about the tents , I turned round and went to a different one when i saw that , may of changed now tho

We stayed at Dunstan Hill - lovely site and lovely walks from the site to Craster and Low Newton by the Sea. Bus Stop outside site gates so also used Bus to Beadnell Bay and walked back.
