Hi, can anyone recommend any sites that are working farms... i.e., animals around for the daughter to have a look at and maybe get involved with in the mornings. Anywhere is ok as we are midland based and don't mind traveling. Also a pub within walking distance would be good but not essential.
Many thanks for any responses

This one is in mid-Devon. Has some really good reviews regarding animal/camper interaction and you can get really involved with the cows, sheep, pigs, chickens etc. Children can collect eggs etc. It looks as though it's a basic site but the experience more than makes up for it. Looks as though some reviewers have been going there for years.
The site has a pub 1 mile away and is a 15 minute drive to the town of Tiverton for supplies. Mid Devon is very handy for exploring both North and South coasts so access to beaches is within your distance too.
My vote would go to Norden Farm. Loads of animals about including rare breeds and a mini zoo. They obviously care about animals. Its also a working dairy farm - always lots of calves.
There is a footpath into Corfe Castle - about 20 mins or about 1 min in the car. Several decent pubs and of course the castle ruins. Also some good walks over Purbeck and the superb Studland beach.
Norden Farm is also relatively inexpensive. Off their in 2 weeks
Fron Farm in Mold in Wales is lovely, pony rides £2 plus a tractor sledge ride no noise after 10.30pm, around the site are animals in enclsoures some of which are rare breeds! A very family friendly site

Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
