Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
I have been there 3 times as I'm quite local. It's not a great site to be honest, particularly in high season as there's simply not enough space. I like mid season when they do offers for a whole weekend, and there's a lot less people.
I've always managed to get into the top field which is nice. From all accounts the field that is used in the summer for camping is really not nice, sloped, inadequate toilets, muddy.
I've reviewed it positively myself but the reviews do get deleted and I'm not sure why. Probably because they are often negative so maybe the campsite asks them to be deleted.
I would not go back there in the summer holidays though, it was chaotic and far too many people to be able to use the pool nicely, and far too pricey for my liking. I would however definitely go back out of season, when it's much nicer.
Hope that helps.

We went there some years ago and would not go back. The toilet blocks were disgusting - one toilet was blocked for the whole 2 weeks we were there. The site was very crowded and quite run down.
Also, we didn't like the fact that we had to go miles to get to a beach.
Thank you all very much for the replies, very much appreciated.
Do you have any sites that you would recommend? We live in Manchester are would be prepared to travel upto abbout 5 hours. We have 4 boys 13, 11, 8 & 5!
Worse than the absence of reviews is that the owners have asked UKCS not to allow any reviews to be posted. There are a very, very few sites that do this, and I wouldn't touch any of them with a twenty foot tent pole.
Good campsite owners don't mind an occasional bad review too much - there are some funny people out there. I can think of no reason why a site would want to ban reviews, except that it's lousy and can't be bothered to improve.
I have been there and am returning again over BH weekend.
I reviewed this site and it was a good review, nearly all the bad reviews where from people who stayed on BH weekends and where put in a field that was an overflow field only open BH Weekends.
Most complained about the dirty temporary toilet block, yes it was dirty on the floor, but it was also very wet and muddy outside. Staff done their best to keep the areas clean but as fast as they was cleaning it was getting dirty again. Other parts of the site remained clean and staff were around cleaning up as the day went along.
At the end of the day if you go on a busey BH weekend you get stuck in the back field (that does have electric and swings etc.) and if it's wet there it gets a little muddy.
I found the site facilities good (adequate) and had a nice long weekend there and am going back for 6 days this week.
I think the reviews had been removed because of all the bad ones mostly over these wet BH weekends.
Got there on a very wet Wednesday, but the rain slowed to a fine drizzle when putting up tent.
We stayed for 6 nights, as I found the site before it was very clean. As the weekend approached the site got very busy but still remained clean and very pleasant. Toilet and shower blocks very clean. Evening got a little noisy but not too noisy as my kids all slept very well every night.
Myself and my partner rise quite early so on a walk round the site at 6:30am we noticed that some people had made a bit of a mess, toilet rolls trailed round the roadway and a few beer cans left on the grass away from the tents and caravans. by 7:30 all this fad been cleaned up by the staff and they regularly emptied the bins around the site as the day went on.
We found this to be a very nice family site and as the whole site was fully booked and the overflow field was reopened for the BH weekend they must be doing something right. most of the people we got chatting to had been a few times before and had a good break while they was there this time.
Yes we will be returning there again another time.
This site has had quite a lot of comments over the last few years, doing a search as suggested by ratty will give you the answer you need, quite simply "stay away" , not a nice place, muddy boat lakes, overcrowded swimming pools, close proximity pitches festooned with fairy lights, patio heaters, wind breaks and bearded tatooed ladies..! along with the dirty facilities and overflowing bins, been once, never again.
