We fancy a weekend away next weekend, and are looking at the Lake District. We like the look of Castlerigg Farm/Castlerigg Hall campsites, but neither of them take advance bookings for tents.
What are the chances of us getting a pitch on Saturday, if we arrive fairly early? It's a long way to go if we can't find anywhere to stay!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Schools holidays are risky especially if it turns out to be nice. Surely you could ring ahead on the day and say you're on your way though. I can't see why if you tell them the time you're arriving they can't save it for you!
Unfortunately they won't reserve a pitch for you - it is literally a case of first come, first pitched!!
Personally I think it is risky during the main school holidays, especially if the weather is nice, but I am one of these people who need to know I have a pitch before I leave home! If you really want to go I would say give it a try, but have a back up list of other sites in the area that you can ring - I'm sure somewhere would have a pitch especially if you don't want EHU.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
