Hi all,
We go on our first camping trip with our shiny new tent his weekend, alll very exciting!!
In November, my partner turns 40..and i want to do something special for him, but funds are tight...sooo.. he loves camping, is a real outdoorsy man, and i wondered if surprising him with a short trip away ( no kids on this one!) would be nice.
But, do mant sites stay open during the colder months, is there anywhere ( south) that you'd describe as an extra special campsite, and do you think a tent, a bbq, lots of wine is a nice birthday treat?!
We live in Surrey, so can't be too far from there in case we needed to get back for the samll one, who will hopefully stay at nannys.
Thoughts on a postcard please!!
:o)

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
That's a really lovely idea - would Suffolk be too far for you ? I know it's not exactly local but the Orchard allow campfires which would probably come in handy in November!!
We were there last summer and it's a great site, really laid back.

My mother just informed me it'd be far too cold to camp the first week of Nov... Hmm... what do you think?

Just go prepared and it's plenty warm enough.
Hot water bottles, warm drinks at night, thick warm walking socks, thermals for pj's, fan heater and you'll be fine - an extra blanket or quilt for the bed if you normally feel the cold.
We go for th October half term week and manage fine.
Always listen to your mother...she is usually right. My mother told me I would get hemorrhoids if I sat on wet grass when I was a kid...well there's still time
Actually, there is often a spate of frost in the first week or so of November and then it gets warmer again but with climate change you may get away with it
If you still are looking... I have been looking to go away for my 30th (like your other half i love camping!) we are staying at Newlands holiday park which has excellent reviews and is open in November... Thats where we are going for my 30th!!
Hope you have a fab time!
