Hi, Im new to this site so thought Id say Hi and introduce myself. My family and I are avid campers/caravanners and for some time now have dreamed of owning our own campsite in the UK. We are now just embarking on the gathering information and planning phase of our 2 year business plan and would be keen to speak to people who have gone through the process and have set up their own sites, what are the lessons learned, key points to consider etc.
Can anybody recommend a good source of literature on the subject? i.e. set up and managing a campsite and caravan park etc. If anybody has a particular "bible" they use and can recommend it'd be much appreciated as web info appears to be limited.
Many thanks
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
There are quite often questions about setting up a campsite, if you use the search facility you should find them here are a couple to start setting up a campsite and another
There are lots of good points raised and answered!
You may know about it already in which case tell me to shut up, but have you heard about the Camping and Caravanning Club's Franchise Scheme? It may or may not be what you're after but perhaps making an enquiry might provide some help and information even if you have no intention of pursuing that route?
Hi, Many thanks for the prompt reply and useful tips. Ive checked out the Edwards and Partners link, very useful. I will certainly be buying their guidebook. Ive had an initial gander at the Camping and Caravanning Club website and checked out the franchise bit already they did have lots of useful stuff on the site. We are fairly new members so Ill certainly go back and have a more detailed look on the site and check out their info.
Thanks for the headsup, this is a very friendly forum, Ill certainly be back soon.
