Hi

We are thinking of taking our touring caravan to a Haven site in Dorset Seaview or Rookley Park end of Sept and was just wondering if anyone had been here this year?  We are new to caravanning and are hoping for plenty of space on site to manoveur our van onto its pitch lol!  Also are the roads leading up to the sites suitable for tourers?  Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Brigitte.

Been to Seaview a few times, plenty of room for tourers and the access is fine.

You need to come down the M3 and M27 A31 towards Bournemouth, Poole, Dorchester.  At Bere Regis get on the A35 for Dorchester but a few miles down the road, take the Tolpuddle junction (B3390) and head for Warmwell and Crossways.  the road is fine for a tourer and there are several sites long this road including a Caravan Club site and a Caravan and Camping Club site.  Near Warmwell get on the A353 which will take you towards Osmington and Preston where Seaview is.

This is the way to go!  If you head for Dorchester on the A35 and then take the A354 you'll get help up in the roadworks from hell because of the building of the new road in ready for the 2010 sailing olympics.

Rockley Park has changed since last year. The camping area is now near to reception and you should have absolutely no problems at all

Hi

Thank for the route planning I will take a look at your suggested route on the map. (was worried satnav would send us down some twisty roads).  We will take a look at Seaview and Rookley Park.

Just come back from a local Haven Site Wild Duck Belton Norfolk and was very impressed!

Just need to find a half way point now for an overnight stop with the van somewhere between Norwich and Dorset, we belong to caravan club.  Any ideas?  Have seen Wyatts Covert CC Site so may check this out.

Thanks again,

Brigitte.

Just when in 2010 are these sailing olympics? If I can get some tickets it would save having to wait for the 2012 olympics!.

We went to Rockley in July and loved it!!! You should have no problems with roads or getting the van on to the pitch. If I can do it, anyone can.

Regards

Millermicm, clearly a slip on my part though you know full well that it should have been 2012 and not 2010 as I am sure, would all the other readers and posters to this thread!
