What does anyone think is a reasonable price to stay on a Site permanent (or semi-premanent) with EHU, showers and toilets?
I need to live in my MH due to work in another area but will need EHU. I know this is not really legal but there are sites who will move you around to get by the 28 day rule.
Let me know of any experiences and if campsite owners are open to offers!
Thanks
Anne
Appreciate any feedback.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
A lot of sites open all year round, I have not heard of the 28 day rule, while on holiday this year there was someone who had booked his pitch for 20 months to live in his van as the job in the area he had lasted for the time he booked the site and was cheaper than traveling or getting digs.
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.
Pete.
Some sites such as the big commercial ones and Club sites have the 28 day rule (21days in the CC sites) as part of their local planning regulations, which if they break the rules, they risk loosing their site licence.
Probably the cheapest long term site would be on on a farm, where they have space for a couple of 'workers' caravans and are not regulated as such as a commercial caravan site. Some of these can provide EHU via an adaptor which turns the hook up cable into a normal 3 pin domestic plug, which then can be connected to a domestic type socket in a outbuilding or barn.

Hi just to get things straight, there is nothing illegal about living in your motorhome!
The 28 day rule is down to planning regulations, any longer than that and the site is in breach of its license.
I would join Camping & Caravan Club and Caravan Club, check out all the small sites in your area. Depending on what you require, showers/ehu etc the price varies. If you have a shower on board your van then you will be better of staying on the smaller sites price ranging between £6.00 and £12.00 but if your looking for showers etc then you are starting at £12.00 and working upwards. Average price to expect to pay would be £15.00pn
If you need any more help please get hold of us.

Thanks for help.
I am applying for a job for a couple of years in a place 200 miles from where we live.
I am not selling our house, just thought it would be exciting to live in MH and work, which unfortunately I have to. (I work for NHS)
My Husband is disabled, cannot work but would love to do this. He is OK in MH and can get about, so could possibly help out on a Campsite with light duties or site sitting!
I am trying to get reduced rates for long term stay.
I have an interview tomorrow and I am now thinking 'What are you doing, you silly ......!'
I know we could live in MH, we have always been real campers, so just hoping something turns up that I could afford.
Anyway, not got job yet! I can accept either way.
Just want a change!!
Anne
Hi Anne. Really envious of your dream, we hope to do some form of work living in the van in years to come.
1 thing to consider, should be OK as your not selling up. Insurances are difficult to arrange without a fixed address. If you look in the wardens section there are quite a few sites offering a free pitch for a small amount of work carried out on site.
Hope it all works out for you
