Has anyone been here in the last year or so? The last time I went was October 2008 for the kids half term week and was told that Rollo and his team were being got rid of in favour of a new entertainments team. This was not well received by many who were staying at the park that week as he was a great kids entertainer and was very funny when he participated in the adult shows as well so was very popular.
It was also very unfair that they brought in the new entertainment team at the end of the season and basically the new entertainments manager as good as pushed Rollo off the stage so he was greeted with a big boo!
Many of us that were there that week vowed never to return and looking at some of the reviews of late it looks like its going downhill rapidly!
So has anyone been recently? whats it like now and what is the entertainment like? etc
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Apparently (not been there recently myself) the entertainment is just OK.
Would probably compare it to Rollo and team, which our kids loved. He was really good with everyone. Wonder where he is now?
It is a great place to stay, hope its not as bad as the reviews are making out.

I did get a chance to speak to him on his last night and buy him a drink and I did ask him what he was up to now and he said that he may come back top searles as a visting entertainer but to say the guy was gutted was an understatement
Took me Mam and Dad in a Static - v nice c/h two toilets, not loads a money, Sky in pub BUT pint of Strongbow £ 3.65 glass of coke £ 1.80 , nice well stocked shop on site BUT drag us out of the van, lower the prices, will go in the M/H but won,t go boozing in the club/pub - mental- business accumen - none methinks !

Rollo works self employed now touring other holiday parks and does private booking etc.We enjoyed searles when he was there but not been back since. People we have spoken to say the entertainment team are trying to make it cruise ship style entertainment which leaves the kids bored.
We go to Vauxhall holiday park Great yarmouth each year and our kids loved it up to them being older teenagers. The October half term week is great there as it is a good price and entertainment for the kids is afternoon and night
Called into Vauxhall as I had liked the look of it. Thought the pitches were crammed together and the pool was very full, in fact it looked like too many people were in it, didnt look safe.
