Hi
I am looking for a caravan sites so i can use my amateur radio gear ( HF ) where they allow you to put up aerials , which are quit big , but i would also like the site to be high up, say over 1000 feet above sea level.
I live in stoke on trent and would like the site to be with in 100 miles from my QTH ( home )

Many Thanks

Don't know if you've heard of the Amateur Radio Caravan and Camping Club?

Looks as if most of their meets/rallies are fairly centrally located, and their logbook lists operations from two commercial sites and a Caravan Club CL.

Duke of York at Pomeroy is high enough and I don't think he would mind the aerials if you asked him first.

HF antennas are always a bit of a prob, I always take a 2/70 in the van but have never used the van for HF except for when I've run special event stations at the local classic car shows (GB0CF & GB0GR). Maybe we ought to have a ukcs radio meet next summer. Love to have a crack at HF from the van and will keep an eye on this thread for site suggestions. Wasn't aware of the ARCC but seems a good idea providing you all come to an amicable agreement on who is going to operate on which bands otherwise it could get a bit difficult.............Mick  G0SRR

Thanks chaps , i will have a look at that . The only HF aerial i use is a 7 meter fising pole with a 9:1 unun , so really it just looks like a flag pole and not an aerial , i guess i couold just go to any caravan site high up in the hills and put my fishing pole up and no one would be any wiser , but i asked about caravan sites friendly to amateur because i might cause TVI ( Television interfereance ) and i know that would upset people who love there tv .

Many Thanks for the replies .....
