I have a large 6 berth family tent (Some sites refer to them as Jumbo) and we always use camping sites that can supply us with electrics.
Does anyone know of or recommend a camping site that will accommodate this in the vicinity of Keswick, Cumbria?
I have been looking and I have not found that many. I have found the Caravan & camping site next to Derwent water at Keswick, but I know that site has issues with flooding and water logged pitches, so I am reluctant to use that one, even though it is otherwise ideal.
Please help!
Regards
Phil

Had a look and majority of them do not supply electrics for tents, other than Burns farm and the C&C site at Crow park (The one that sometimes floods!). So Burns farm is a possibility, Ive stayed there before in a caravan and its a decent basic site. My only concern is it does get battered when windy! But at this rate, I dont have many options.
When are you going to Keswick .we were there last year in June for 15 nights,it rained once overnight was red hot for the full fortnight.the cc club site on derwentwater is fantastic.

Try Lanefoot Farm they have a couple of areas for tents with electric I stayed there last year It's only about a 5 min drive from Keswick and you can walk it
------------- Nothing nada zilch no camping this year boohoo
We have found a spot called Gill head farm at Troutbeck, just outside of Keswick up the A66. It takes big tents with electrics, has good facilities and is cheaper than everywhere else! Great!
Hi Phil, we have stayed at the C&CC site at Keswick on numerous occassions and we love it there! But on our last visit there in July 2009, we were on flood alert and had to take our awning down ready for a quick evacuation! The 2 rivers both burst their banks and the lake came right up to our caravan, flooding all the pitches. Needless to say, we had to get off! The staff were very helpful and were ringing all the other sites in the area to see if they could accommodate everyone. We ended up at Scotgate in Braithwaite, about 3 miles from Keswick town centre! Great walks & pubs, excellent facilities and stunning scenery. Stayed here for two nights as they could only put us up for this lenght of time, then we went back to the C&CC as the water had subsided. Would highly recommend Scotgate!
Hi, we stayed at The Quiet Site last August, lovely site, fairly small with tent pitches towards the top with good views, some with electric. Between Keswick and the motorway, great quirky bar. You'd have to check if they could accommodate your tent, but there were quite a few large outfits there. Very envious, lovely area!
