Hi Susie, Freshwater Beach is a fab place to stay but does get very busy on a weekend. Great entertainment - bottle top bingo on Fri night is a great laugh! They are right on the beach and have walks in both directions to nice pubs. A nice place that we will definately visit again. They also have a riding stables on the site!

Probably Invercaimbe, though I stand to be corrected by Tiggarsmum if that's not the case. It was Invercaimbe that I stayed on, the end of the site comes right onto the beach and there's a lovely estuary running alongside. There's also Portnadoran next door with similar views and Camusdarach a bit further along. Haven't got a link but you'll find them all in 'camp site search' at the top of the page.

Thanks for that Jan, I think we are going to go for freshwater beach as it ticks all our boxes, although it will mean buying a new tent as our hartford xxl is too big. They werent very helpful with this and want to charge for 2 pitches even though there are 4 families going and we asked if we could 'spill over' onto each others pitches. Oh well i'll just have to suffer and go tent shopping.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
