With a soon to be 16yr old who towers above me, we now have the adult fee looming, if we're honest when paying.
Although she is fast approaching 16 it seems adult only sites mostly state 18yrs, even though the child rate is normally only up to 16!
So we thought as she obviuosly doesn't run around causing mayhem, nor does she want play areas we will look to staying on Adult only sites, however the minimum age seems to be stated as 18 and above.
We could and would phone the site and pose the question beforehand but wondered on your views or if others have ahd the same problem!

We camp most weekends when the weather is good and mostly on adults only sites.
I definitely wouldn't have a problem with a 16 yr old camping on one of those sites, in fact i've often seen an older teenager on sites with their parents.
I think you will find it varies from campsite to campsite. Even where its 18 if you explain the situation the owner might be will to make an exception. Do you not use Caravan Club sites as they tend to be quieter despite allowing children.

David..we don't use club sites as we wouldn't get the benefit of the membership, our camping due to our hobby is all over and normally on farmers fields, it's when we go to sites a few times a year that I've been thinking of the age problem.

Bob - had thought of just taking her along as can't see that we would be questioned but you never know, unlike the pubs and bars you wouldn't have ID for a site and I'm sure mum or dads word should be taken as truth.
Ang/Ken - I have also seen adult only sites stating 40, 50 + 60, admittedly it was seperate fields on a site.

In another survey, 10% of the men questioned preferred women with thin thighs, 15% preferred thick thighs, the rest preferred something in between!
I emailed one site who responded saying their policy of 18 years was not flexible. Could have booked and taken my chance on arrival with the girls suitably prepared but have now found somewhere else.
I think it's nice that these sites have so many paying customers that they can stick to their policy and turn customers away....times can't be that bad!!
Why on earth do you want to book your teenagers into an Adult Only site just because an ordinary site charges them at Adult rates ? They aren't all connected you know........
It isn't JUST because they are charged at adult rate, it's because we would like to go to these adult sites, plus our teenagers don't want to be at a site with swings, slides and loads of screaming kids waking them up at 7am.
It gives more choice and IF WE HAVE TO PAY ADULT PRICES FOR THEM WHY CANT WE GO TO ADULT SITES, almost like you have a 2yr window of being in limbo land.
