Just to upset the applecart, I and four friends are staying in the Kielder area the royal wedding w/end for three nights in 4* self-catering accommodation, including heating and lecky plus bedlinen for £185 all in! Just over £12 ppn. And there's two events going on locally! No, not telling till we've sussed it out - we may get a guaranteed price next year!

My van sleeps 5, has electric and my OWN bedlinen and I'd still pay less than the £60 pn that you're paying...

I just booked a weekend, Haven (book early holiday 50% off) 28.2.11. Haggerston Castle, Northumberland. Three nights, 5 adults, 2 little kids, large pitch, folding camper, awning, 16 amp electric, water on pitch. Including passes for centre, pool etc. £37.80 all in. = £12.60 per night. Might be worth looking at Haven in your areas? Fred.
Wow that is good!!!! might have to look at some Haven sites myself and check the calendar to see if i have any holiday's left.
------------- 2011 Trips
-------------------------
13th May - Knight Stainforth Hall
10th June - Woolacombe Holiday Park
29th July - Skegness Water Leisure Park
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
I will do a review after our visit to Haggerston.
We have stayed there before but in statics so can not comment on camping areas yet. We enjoyed our stays in statics but I do remember complaining about being given a 6 berth instead of an 8 berth which they sorted.
We spent a day last week looking at camp sites in this area, about eight sites and were not really impressed for what we were looking for. The best one we saw was 'Waren' near Bamburgh. We are retired and usually have younger family and children with us and want things for the kids. When I saw the cheap price, less than half what others were charging, and lots for kids I thought it would be worth a try. It is one of their bigger pitches with water etc. If they organise good weather for us I will probably give the a good report.
Fred.
Are all the facilates at Haven open out of season, not worried about club entertainment, but swimming pools? Have never considered Haven before but thats less than half the price of the sites we have looked at booking ?
Have used Haven in the past one bad experience and one really good one.
Everyones idea of a perfect holiday is different and as life progresses your needs change.
Four years ago we would have had to go somewhere with kids club and full entertainment. Now its the quieter sites we look for.
I wouldnt even pay the £37 a night, we have been to all singing all dancing sites and have payed no more than £22, the site we are going to april bank holiday is charging us £30 for three nights. Thats 2 adults 2kids with electric and loads of space for the kids to run round. Hot clean showers, friendly people. What more do you need?

Brian,
I have read your review and will let you know how we get on.
Fred.
Fred, I hope it has improved since last year. and hope you have a great time. Just read my review and sound s like aI am a right complainer I am, but only where I feel it is necessary to complain. We have friends who have thier own residential Caravan and they love the place. Everyone is different and looks for diiferent things fom different Campsites. For kids this is a great site. For older Audults I am not too sure.
I do hope you have a good time with you grandkids
Hi,
Just to add to the Haven low prices mentioned above. We are booked into Kiln Park in Tenby for the 25th of April for 5 nights, 5 adults (two berth van but awning with two bed annexes which should be fun - NOT) with EHU including 5 club passes for £58. Thats £2.32 per person per night. I normally can not stand Haven sites but even I can put up with them for that price. This was booked through the Haven official site and as this is a bank holiday/school holiday then I am a bit bewildered why the price is so low.

Sorry Andy, they have put their prices up now as I assume you have to book a certain amount of weeks in advance but there are some great offers on their website if you are flexible on dates and that price is everything up to 5 adults on a pitch and including their clubhouse passes so for a cheap week away they are excellent at the moment:
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
