Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
The Quiet site at Ullswater is nice (check out the reviews). I think they have also done quite a bit of work upgrading facilites and leveling the problematic sloping field this winter so it should be even better than when we stayed there a couple of years ago.
There is a quirky bar in an old barn on site which is great, the facilities are good and it's a nice location.
You don't say what you like doing... but there are some great walks from the site - we walked up Place fell from Glenridding and can definitley recommend that, really lovely walk and great views - if your fiance can manage a mini mountain (i know how she feels as I will also be 4 months pregnant in June and not sure I could takle it now!).
Aira Force waterfall is nearby (walking distance, there is a map of the route on their website). There is also the Ullswater steamer - take the steamer from Glenridding to Howtown and walk back along the lovely lakeshore path. Or boat/ kayak hire on the lake. It's only about 5 miles to Keswick and all the shops ect.
Hope you find somewhere suitable and all the best for your new arrival!
Otherwise the NT site at Langdale is awesome - there are 3 really great pubs in easy walking distance and amazing views! However, it is pretty rural and apart from a couple of lovely little villages it is a bit out in the middle of nowhere. In terms of things to do, there are plenty of walks and it's lovely and quiet for just relaxing! Ambleside and Grasmere aren't far away either. Try Chesters at Skelwith Bridge, near Ambleside for delicious cakes!
Have a look at the C&CC site at Eskdale in the western lakes. Check out the reviews on this website, they are almost all very complimentary. Its one of the nicest sites we have ever stayed on (shower block is super). The location is superb (see attached photo taken last September).
Boot village is a short walk away and has 2 very good pubs both of which do excellent food.
There are some nice walks from the site (Stanley Ghyll falls being one) and as the area is much less crowded than the eastern lakes it is very peaceful.
The railway line to Ravenglass is a must (whether you are 5 or 85) and have put a photo of that in as well. Its a pleasant walk from Ravenglass through the woods up to Muncaster Castle which is well worth a visit.
Whatever you decide, hope you have a great time, and congratulations on the baby!
Forgot to mention on my post that Wasdale is the next dale to Eskdale (going North) and has been voted the most beautiful view in the Lakes. Took this last September as well.

I would agree with everything in the above post. I spent last weekend there, my first time in that area and also on a C & CC site, and I was well impressed. I've just written it into my blog, with various photos, and fully intend going back there before too long, when I'll be making a trip to Wasdale, which was highly reccommended.
I can highly reccommend the food at the Boot Inn in the village, and also the toffee cake at the railway station cafe - delicious!

we've decided to go with eskdale, looks really nice and cant find a bad review about it, one thing i will say is that Martin(i think was his name) was actually quite abrupt and well rude on the phone, may have been busy but not the point really. still going though, just wish it was sooner than end of june, that sucks!!!
thanks for all your help though all, appreciate it

I'm surprised you said Martin was very abrupt with you on the phone - I can only assume he was having a busy day. Another member on here has been to that site several times and speaks very highly of Martin; when I was there the weekend before last I found him very easy going, friendly and helpful.

Good choice, been to Eskdale a couple of times, a really wonderful site.
Get some advice on where to pitch on arriving as can be a bit boggy in places at times. We ended up pitched on a bit of a bog last year + the car got stuck.
Great walking, great pubs, enjoy.
I think Martin must have been having an off day. He can seem a bit abrupt but is really nice and very helpful. Agree with the point about choosing the right pitch as some are more prone to "boginess" than others in the event that you are unlucky enough to get a lot of rain. Ask Martin or the other wardens when you get there and I'm sure they will give you good advice.
It really is a lovely site and I hope you have a great holiday. We may be going there in June (weather dependent but you have to expect some rain in the Lakes that is why its so green and lovely).
If you fancy a treat one morning the Boot Inn does a lovely cooked breakfast. We went there on the day we were leaving after we had packed the tent, Set us up nicely for the journey to our next site.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
