We're hoping to camp one weekend in early July with a group of 4 ish other families, all with couple of children aged 4-8. We normally stick with CC but the other families have tents, so we have to branch out!!! We're from Cheltenham and are looking for site within 2 hours, probably on the coast, perhaps the Gower but anywhere really? It would be ideal to pitch near each other and have area for children to play in, but also quiet enough to get some sleep! Will be the first time camping for one family so want to show them the pleasures, eg nice loo and showers too! Thanks

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Hi,

the Gower is lovely but if you don't want to go that far then Acorn in Llantwit major is a really nice, clean, quiet site : http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=3489

Kids play area with trampoline, play frame etc. Games room with air hockey / pool table / table tennis. Good onsite shop, and they also do breakfast rolls although we didn't try these.

Close to a beach, with a cafe open 364 days a year! ( can walk or cycle,or there's a carpark beachside)

Good for cycling, also shops / takeaways / pubs within walking distance.

Local leisure centre with sports activities and swimming pool if weather not so great!

Lots to see and do in and around Cardiff / Bridgend / Porthcawl areas. Also some lovely smaller towns / villages eg Cowbridge,Ogmore By Sea etc

Our non camping friends came  for a BBQ when we stayed at Acorn last week, and they were very impressed with the shower block etc!
