I am going to the Shrewsbury Folk Festival in August and am looking for a decent campsite nearby - walking distance preferably (2/3 miles?. I haven't booked into the festival camp site as i would like a decent nights sleep and pleasant surroundings, if possible. I will be tenting rather than caravaning.Any suggestions, Peeps?

If you want to walk to the festival Oxon is your only realistic site.
It's over 3 miles by the time you have walked from the campsite to the main road,into Shrewsbury town centre and back out to get to the other side of the river where the Festival is being held. Over an hours walk at least I'd say for the average person. A park and ride bus service runs from by the campsite which would take you halfway there but might not be running late enough to bring you back.

If you are a member of the C&CC there is a cs site called Coton Hill Farm which is very near to the showground.
