just Back from this site Naze Marine and for those seeking a site near to London with entertainmant and Extreamly Good and clean facilities and Great walks straight out from the site onto the nature reserves. with neat flat walking that is fine for the most unsure footed of walkers its hard to beat. quiet solitude of the walks and then evening entertainment something for most folk. here are the pictures of the Estuary thats directly out the rear of the Park. and the campsite. view of the club house was from my caravan door and I was two pitches from the rear of the site so you can get further back if desired.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Nice to see this - my family used to run the Eastcliffe static site next door and sold to Naze Marine when my parents retired. Used to live in the former Eastcliffe Hotel as you head up the Esplanade tpwards the Naze then they built a house down by the old entrance to the caravan site.
Walton was a great place to grow up what with the beaches, pottering about in boats, fossil hunting on the cliffs of the Naze, the pier and the wildlife - but then, with Mum and Dad running the site, I had an awful lot of unsupervised free time during the summer!
Tell me, are the old concrete barges from WW2 still around against the seawall on the creek?

My son on it ! and also a realy lovely old wildfowlers punt sunk sitting and rotting a great rural history shame. thinking of going back and rescuing it for the future generations to see and learn from.
price of pitch with full use of evening entertainment and also pool and small childs playground ? £12 a night for up to six persons and £6 in the week. add to that the walks sights and proximity to town a good deal and time had by all. reviews in depth to follow. yes for those who wonder ? its a large barge/boat made from concrete ! floated out to the harbour mouths and sunk to halt invasion boats. again these are in great need of saving for the future. although they are not going to rot too soon. .

That was great to see - used to get hell from Mum and Dad coz used to go crabbing in one of the breached ones and those hatches were lethal! Glad to know one at least survives - Grandad bought four, I think, heaven knows why, but they did come in useful after 1953 floods. There's some good photos of that -including where you were staying - completely under water on the Walton on the Naze website.
Thank you for the photos and alerting memories - I'm glad you had a great time.
Hi. Strange query I know, but was your Grandad Alfred John Barnes ? It's just that I am researching the World War II ferro-concrete barges and you posted that your Grandad had bought four of them !
