I've left it late to book a site for the late may bank hol weekend and now getting a headache turning into a migrane trying to find somewhere with decent reviews and isn't fully booked.

We're based in the south east so anywhere around up to 2 hours drive away is ideal, not too fussy just looking for a site that doesn't have 100s of pitches ( we camped last years may bank hol at a forest holidays site and it was so so packed no room to move. Not wanting to do that again)

Any ideas at all of some good places?

Toilets, showers and EHU, those allowing a campfire would be nice

Awww, could recommend a fab site in Doddington, Kent but it's non ehu. Only has 25 pitches and each pitch is huge and it allows fires in firepits. Loos, showers and washing up area always clean.

If you can go without ehu, I can't recommend it enough. We stayed there last bank holiday and even though it was fully booked there was loads of space and no cramming in. The site is called Palace Farm.

Great for kids. No play area as such for them but you camp around the edge of the field so huge space in the middle for kids to play without interfering with the tents plus field leads onto orchards and other fields to explore so also good for dog walking if you have one.

Working farm with 3 rescued gorgeous goats and free roaming cockerals and hens. Owners Liz and Graham are more than accommodating to all your needs. The site is also tent only and has 2 Tipi's which they hire out.
