Can anyone recommend an area and/or site we can visit for one week in the summer with two older kids (ages 17 and 21). They aren't into partying etc but we want somewhere with plenty to do around. Visiting towns / walking etc. We also have a dog so his needs are to be taken into consideration. We live in Notts and want to drive approx 2-3 hours max. Any suggestions welcome.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

A bit further afield maybe but have you been to The New Forest? Black Knowl CC site is good but there are also the forest campsites. The Brockenhurst area we have found is best for us.It's 30 mins to the sea if it's swimming you want. There are a few attractions in the area including the motor museum but the best thing we found is the cycling. Miles and miles of forest tracks and across the heaths. It's difficult with older children I know to find enough for them to do.It depends what they are in to.

I would look at a site with a pool maybe and even a gym as that would give the kids somewhere to go when on site.   Or what about sites near to cities then you can go in and do all the touristy things by day and retreat to the calm of the campsite by night.  Even London has campsites!
