We are travelling from Scotland to Plymouth (towing a caravan) to catch the ferry to Roscoff. Can anyone help with suggestions for a stopover for one or two nights. We're looking for somewhere not too far off route, probably about and hour or so south of Birmingham. Looking for somewhere with good clean toilet/shower block, playpark for the kids and if possible near to somewhere for a day out like a theme park or safari park. I would like round about Bath, but I think this may be too far in one day.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
there is drayton manor park which isnt south of birmingham but is near ish it has a campsite - i havent used it but my dad has and recommended it for me and the kids. drayton manor has thrill rides and a zoo and thomas land so good for kids of all ages .
or you could try somewhere around kidderminster which again isnt south of birmingham but not far off route there is west midlands safari park.
or south of birmingham theme park wise you got gullivers at milton keynes i live 9 mile north of birmingham and milton keynes is about 9 mins from here if that helps
i cant think of any other theme parks/safari parks here in the midlands at the moment

Alternatively, if youi like the idea of Drayton Manor, then you could stop at the Kingsbury C&CC site or (a little further away) Conkers C&CC site (just up the M42) which is next door to the Conkers Woodland/Wildlife Activity Centre. Both are on the N. side of Birmingham though.
For the West Midlands Safari Park you could try Wolverly C&CC site. It might be too far off the motorway though.
We like Blackmore CC site which is 15 mins of the M5 at Junction 7 (I think), in the shadow of the lovely Malvern Hills. Nice play park, fabulous facilities. Not far from Worcester etc.
I'd second Kingsbury C&CC park for Drayton Manor as well. Really nice site and only 10 minutes from Drayton Manor.
Failing that, there's the Cotswolds just a bit further, but probably a little bit too far from the M5.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
