As per title is one any better than the other ? Planning on staying 2 nights (11/12 July) . Myself, the Missus and a 12 year old (who likes short walks and doing nothing too strenous )
Looking at reviews here the holland wood site seems to be beside a busier road but other than that is there much between them.....Roundhill is also £4 cheaper.
All replies appreciated.

Well were booked in at Setthorns for August, no entertainment, hopefully piece and quiet but one of the few forest holiday sites that has EHU to power the teenagers xbox, skybox,tv,phone charger, hairdryer etc etc etc!!!!
Ok no showers but teenagers smell anyway!!!! ( and the van has one)
After many years of going to sites with a pool and entertainment and paid the premium and the boys used it twice i thought i may aswell just plonk myself on a cheap site, chill out and let them make there own entertainment!!!!
Haven't stayed at Hollands Wood but it is close to a mainroad and looks very dark with hardly any grass under the trees and lots of big roots sticking out. Roundhill is really lovely but a 45 minute walk into the nearest village, ponies wandering around and good cycling on the old airfield.
The road past Hollands wood can get very busy as it's the main Lyndhurst to Lymington Road, so if you're pitched near it you will get some traffic noise. On the plus side, you can take a short walk along a path that's set back from the road (and crosses a very popular shallow stream) into Brockenhurst directly from here. If you prefer a woodland type setting, then Hollands Wood is for you, but if you prefer more open heathland with small pockets of trees, then Roundhill would suit.
Roundhill is a x WW2 airfield, so it's far more open, but it can be difficult to find a flat pitch. More a problem for a tent though. The toilet facilities at Roundhill are in less permanent structures than Hollands Wood, and they had a major problem with water supply the last time we stayed at Round Hill during peak time. Hopefully this will have been sorted by now.
The pitches at the back of Hollands Wood look out over some nice open space, and road noise is much reduced.
We stopped using either of these as when the CC took them over, the prices shot up. As an alternative have you considered Long Meadow ?. It's a great site, on the same road as Hollands Wood, but set much further away so no road noise, cheaper, and also has direct access to woodland walks/paths. We're going back in August..can't wait

Second what Camperclan have said. We used to stay at Hollands Wood as a preference to Roundhill for location closer to Brockenhurst. Have now been converted to Long Meadow. Well away from road so no noise from that at all. Also prices are a lot better that Forestry Commision sites.
