We are planning to go to the york area in august camping and would love any recommendations for campsites which are dog friendly and within easy reach of york city centre itself...

We're leaving for York tomorrow and staying at Wagtail Park which is dog friendly. Its a new site, never been before but it gets great reviews. Its 3miles from the centre of York and is very close to a Park and Ride and large shopping outlet with Asda, Sainsburys etc.

Naburn Lock is nice and also has the waterbus into York. Dog friendly, big field next door where you can let the dog off, pub down the road that does good food.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
