Hi all,
we are going to Globe Vale this year 23rd July to 6th Aug,with our club, anyone else going this year?
The reviews look great, but is it really as good as it says, and if the weather is windy, is there much shelter, had a bad experience in wales a few years ago, had to change from a large 9man tent to 3 pup tents just to finish the holiday.
Thanks

Hi. We'll be at Globe Vale and we're arriving on Friday 29th. We'll be on one of the the full service hardstanding pitches, along the top - hopefully on either pitch 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. We have a Bailey Sancerre and a Disco, so do come and say hello. This is our third year and we really like it - one of my favourite sites. I assume you will be in one of the rally fields - Premier A or B or Meadow A or B.
Should be OK - not had a problem with wind (!). The fully Serviced pitches seem fine, but I have only looked into Premier A, and never investigated us as far as the Meadow. Paul & Louise are lovely and are very helpful. Bar area is small - they do meals, food is ordinary fayre (nothing protentious) but really good value and quality. Have one of the steaks - they get them from the farm just down the lane. I have to say, Globe Vale is one of our favourite sites. The main toilet block is immaculately kept and I understand Paul & Louise have added another smaller unit in the Meadow to avoid the walk back to the main block. It's a great site - I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Excellent location too - central for getting to anywhere at the bottom end of Cornwall.
You can tell how good it is, we're staying for 3 weeks and I know there are people who return year on. If you do decide to look us up, you will tell it's us - hopefully I'll have my new fairy lights up and working around the top edge of the awning. I'll get some cans put in the fridge.
Thanks for that, will definately look you up, we should be on a rally field, havent a clue which one, all i know is that we have a field to ourselves, we are with British Leyland, but because we joined them we get to go with about 18 other clubs, we are booked with Land Rover this time.
I will be using my new (2nd hand to me) montana 6 with extention and porch and hopefully fairy lights if i can pick a few up before i go, been itching to buy some so am off on my travels tomorrow to get some come hell or high water! If you got the beers in the fridge i will sniff you out! I am going all this year i think, am really looking forward to it.
The reason we are going is DD is at uni in Truro and I havent seen her since easter and she wanted to come home for a while in the summer, so she will be joining us or at least being there during the day for the 2nd week, cant wait.
Will ask my dad what sort of caravan you have, as he is the expert and can point me in the right direction, last thing i need to do is introduce myself to some poor unsuspecting family who thinks i have escaped from the local nut house!!!!
Thanks for all you help, see you soon

Hi david,
managed to get some lights, 10 solar ones and 3 lots of dragon fly pound shop ones, also got a pink bbq, kids are threatening to take my purse away lol
Have also bought a big pink bucket to fill with cold water and beers as my fridge can barely hold a can of pop let alone a ton of beer, see i have got my priorities right for this camping trip!
Fingers crossed some other caravaners/campers from here are going too, if not somewhere local to us so we could all meet up lol
See you soon
Wendy

Hi Wendy. Although we don't arrive a Globe Vale until 29th but we're off on the 24th. Leaving our son at home to house sit - just hope we have a house to come home too - he's responsible though and in his mid 20's. Glad you got some lights. Have a good journey down.
