I always buy the odd tin with my messages to put towards camping hols (still do it even with our caravan!) Also when we go on holiday I make up a menu - if weight is an issue than its much better to go shopping when you get there with a menu so you know what you are going to buy and not overspend.
We always scour the internet before we go anywhere to find out if there are any cheap or even better, free things to do in the area. Tourist informations are great places to have a look for leaflets that have discounts in them.
As for the sites themselves, it takes a lot of research but there are cheaper sites out there - we have noticed the prices going up quite a lot this year.
We are in both the Caravan club (for cls for the caravan) and the Camping and Caravan club (for cs's with the tent)Even with the fees it saves a lot of money on camp sites (not to mention 2 magazines a month!!!!LOL)
------------- Hols 11
Easter - East Calder
Wee break in tent - Aberfoyle
Summer - Whitby/Barnard Castle
Aug - Craigielands
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
