We had 5 fantastic nights there in the May half term - it was that week of amazing weather and it was incredible.
My initial thoughts weren't great as there was a massive dog mess left for us on our pitch and we were overlooking the car park and it seemed quite big but this soon changed as we ventured down to the central area. There is a great bar with fabulous views over the water - and you can sit there with the dog- and watch the kids in the playground. Great for the kids. We didn't really go to the evening entertainment - don't think it was anything special but the clubhouse was a lot better than many others. The restaurant was very good and popular.
We didn't go to the beach as you can't take dogs on there and it was a real shame as it looked lovely. It is very steep though - the whole site is
We walked to Budleigh Salterton - about 8 miles round trip I think and to Sidmouth - a shorter walk but very steep. Both well worth a visit.
We caught and barbecued mackerel from a boat in Exmouth which looked like a great place too but we didn't explore it further.
Drive there was a bit hairy with the van - but worth it.
Have a great time! Hope the sun shines for you!

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Thanks for your postings, we had a fab time, got a lovely tan!! We did the walk to Budleigh on Sunday (over cast day but very warm), the walk was lovely, with stunning coastal views, but Budleigh seemed a bit .....old(retirement area!) although has lots of potential. On Monday we did the walk to Sidmouth (very Sunny and hot day) like ltinker said shorter but very steep, but Sidmouth is verymuch busier and vibrant, both are stunning walks and we got to see Kestrels flying over the coast.
The weather was great, Friday on arrival it was on off drizzle whilst trying to erect the tent!! but after that it was Hot and sunny or hot and over cast.
The beach was great, although it is a pebble beach and steep, it was extremely clean, we hired a double kayak whcih my OH had never done before and he absolutley loved it, the water is amazingly clean, whilst quite far out, you could see what looked like 'Fir Trees' reaching up to the surface of the sea as you looked down, it was so clear and inviting.
My OH isn't really taken with camping, but he has done nothing but talk about going back!!! We came back Tuesday night, on Wednesday morning he rang the site for prices on the apartments that they have, and is now on about going back down for a day trip tomorrow!!!
So all in all a massive success, and we had lovely neighbours who had driven down from Scotland (Ayr), so we suggested a few things to do andplaces to visit, like Dartmouth, Steam Train along the Coast to Kingswear, etc.
